Selecting a president is the Board of Trustees’ paramount responsibility, and the committee is dedicated to a process that will attract a highly qualified and dynamic successor to President Tiedens.

Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty Amy Marcus-Newhall has agreed to assume this important post for the duration of the search, serving as a special advisor to President Tiedens from April 1-15, and assuming the interim president position effective April 16.

Professor of Chemistry Mary Hatcher-Skeers Takes on New Role of Associate Dean of Faculty for Racial Equity

Scripps College has created the new position of associate dean of faculty for racial equity (ADRE), thanks in large part to a generous gift by  Scripps Trustee Gale Picker P’14, P’19. This January, the College officially appointed Mary Hatcher-Skeers, professor of chemistry and Sidney J. Weinberg, Jr. Chair in Natural Sciences, to the position.
